ABOUT US

What Is Dallas Dinner Table?

The Dallas Dinner Table provides an opportunity to hear and to share diverse perspectives about the impact of race on the daily lives of Dallas residents.

The dinners are designed to:
• Encourage communication about race relations and the impact of ethnicity on relationships.

• Educate participants about perspectives held by others related to race relations.

• Empower citizens to develop relationships with people from a variety of racial/ethnic groups.

Registration for the Dallas Dinner Table will begins on the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday and is held every year on the nearest non-holiday weeknight to March 21st The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The dinners will be held in various venues throughout the Metroplex with each dinner attended by participants of diverse backgrounds. Participants are discouraged from focusing on institutional, political or community-level “solutions.” Rather, the dinners are designed to encourage cross-cultural communication and focus through the sharing of personal experiences.
