Welcome to Dallas Dinner Table

Registration for the Dallas Dinner Table 2022 MLK event on Monday, January 17, 2022 has closed.

What is Now and What is Next?

Most, if not all, living in the past year are learning to navigate medical and racial pandemics. For those of us that have been supporting and participating as staff, hosts, facilitators and guests of Dallas Dinner Table in the past, we are hearing and heeding the call for more and deeper conversations that lead to consistent action that addresses racism. What is in the now is that Dallas Dinner Table is focused on marshalling the resources, volunteers and funding, to respond to the many requests to support communities, companies and organizations that want to partner with us to expand beyond our annual event. What is next is to create a plan using the resources that commit to help us and implement the plan. It will not be easy or quick, but with the support of our very small staff and all of you that have given us your time, talent and treasure, we will stay on the path to creating a world without racism. It will require all of us to do more and I know we can do this even though it is hard. Thank you for everything each of you have done to keep us doing work that we have always known is important and even more so now. I am hopeful that we now have many more joining us and “many hands make light work”.

Please volunteer or donate to help us move forward.

Dallas Dinner Table exists to:

  • Encourage communication about race relations and the impact of ethnicity on relationships
  • Educate participants about perspectives held by others related to race relations
  • Empower citizens to develop relationships with people from a variety of racial/ethnic groups.
Let’s continue to have conversations that matter to create actions that lead to real change.  Join us!

The Dallas Dinner Table annual event provides an opportunity to hear and share diverse perspectives about the impact of race on the daily lives of DFW residents.  Our next event is scheduled for Monday, January 17, 2022 and will be held in person, if possible, to coincide with the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday.

Welcome to Dallas Dinner Table

What can I expect at the dinner? Dinners involving 8 to 10 participants of balanced diversity will be held virtually and simultaneously throughout the DFW metroplex via Zoom in the evening of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday.

Do bring an open mind and willingness to share your personal experiences.  Trained facilitators will lend structure to the evening and utilize established techniques designed to minimize debate and maximize understanding among people representing different backgrounds and cultures.  The program design allows for 90 minutes of discussion with a target completion time of 9:30 p.m.
